Mesmerised Kolkatta or say Calcutta!!

Lately I gave up on IT.

Just to tell you I was an IT professional till last month. But then i just gave up on IT and gave a serious thought to do what i enjoyed the most, Photography.  I thought what would be better than travelling to some places and steel some moments of that place in my camera through my eyes. So i planned for one day trip to Kolkata

Kolkata, also known as Calcutta is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. Located on the east bank of the Hooghly river, it is the principal commercial, cultural, and educational centre of East India, while the Port of Kolkata is India's oldest operating port as well as its sole major riverine port
I took a train from Pune to Kolkata

I reached Kolkata early morning around 4:30 AM, that was too early for me to be in a city about which i don’t know anything, I googled some stuff though. So now I am going to K Y road to take a cheap stay, where I plan to dump my bags, take a shower and go for a city tour.

I choose K Y road, because most of the places i wanted to go was nearby like bada bazaar, new market, and flower market

Maulana Azad College, near to my hotel

Old lady sitting beside the college

Early morning, street view of KY Road

 Yellow Ambasadors (Taxi's) of Calcutta

 Street side view

Guy cutting leaves of some type to make so called Cheni Kheni, kind of tobacco

Early morning, sellers getting ready for the busy day

Cart puller, popular in Calcutta and cheap mode of travel

 Hogg Market

 Park Street

two friends sitting at road side, enjoying early morning conversation

I also visited St Paul’s cathedral, great place to be. However it was not allowed to click photos there.

St. Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral of the Church of North India - a united church which is part of the Anglican Communion - in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is the seat of the Diocese of Calcutta, and the incumbent bishop is the Rt. Revd. Ashoke Biswas.

The building itself stands on the "island of attractions" in Kolkata - beside the Victoria Memorial, Nandan, Rabindra Sadan theatre complex, and the Birla Planetariu
